Cheer Squad Shows Off

                                                        Cajun Artist's Work Featured at Gallery

       Local Artist and Musician Gaynell Bourgeois Moore has been chosen as the River Region Art Association's September Artist of the month. Moore is a Louisiana Cajun artist, musician, and historian. Even though she received many awards for her outstanding work, she has had no formal education in art. She was fast to give credit for her many talents as "God Blessed,"she said.

Lady Hawks' have a 66-11 season

                                                  'Brownie Bandet' caught in bakery
       
          Pat Jumonville owns Jumonville’s Bakery in Gonzales along with her husband, Lynn Jumonville, and their two sons. The suspected 'Brownie Bandit' a burglar with a sweet tooth, was arrested after a more-than-two-week run pilfering a Gonzales Bakery of its stocks of sugar, baked goods, and other treats, police said. They found the suspect at Jumonville's Bakery after business hours carrying a bag filled with chocolate-frosted brownies.

                                              #5      One Student Injured in School Bus Mishap
  
         An 18-wheeler headed towards Donaldsonville and apparently clipped the side view mirror of an Ascension Parish school bus late Thursday evening. One student had to go to the hospital because a piece of the mirror flew into the school bus and caused a cut. The injury did not appear to be serious though.
